With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Alexander J. Graziani, AICP, is a dedicated professional in local government management. Currently holding the position of Municipality Manager for Monroeville, Allegheny County, Graziani is known for his wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Professional Journey:

In his role as Municipality Manager, Graziani assumes the pivotal position of chief administrator, overseeing Monroeville's government's comprehensive administration, management, and day-to-day operations. This encompasses astute management of personnel, budgets, purchasing, infrastructure, grants, and pensions. Appointed by a seven-member Council, Graziani reports directly to the Borough Council, ensuring the meticulous execution of policies and directives.

Graziani's prior roles include notable positions such as Manager of Churchill Borough in Allegheny County, Penn Township, and the City of Latrobe in Westmoreland County. He also served as the Planning Director of Clearfield County. From 2001 to 2011, he was the founding Executive Director of the Smart Growth Partnership of Westmoreland County, where he championed sustainable community development. Graziani has worked in private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Leadership and Recognition:

Graziani's enduring commitment to community planning has left an indelible mark on his career. Appointed by Governor Rendell in 2004, he served on the Pennsylvania State Planning Board, ultimately becoming its Chair under Governor Wolfe. As the former President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association, Graziani was honored with the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence by Governor Tom Corbett in 2012.

Educational Background:

A native of western Pennsylvania, Graziani hails from New Castle, where he was born and raised. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College, Pennsylvania, and furthered his academic pursuits with a Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh.

Personal Life:

Beyond his professional commitments, Graziani actively contributes to his community and church. Serving as an Elder, youth group leader, Bible study teacher, and worship drummer, he brings his leadership skills to various facets of community life. He resides in Greensburg with his wife, Eva. Together, they are joyful parents to five children.
