The police force of 51 officers answers approximately 18,000 service calls per year. The force includes a Special Operations Division including a community safety officer and juvenile services officer, Detective Division, Traffic Division, Patrol Division and a K-9 Unit.
The rank structure consists of one Chief of Police, one Assistant Chief of Police, and several lieutenants, sergeants and corporals, in addition to patrolmen.
The department operates various programs such as neighborhood and business crime watch programs, D.A.R.E. Drug Abuse Resistance Education programs and various safety programs.
The qualifications to be a Monroeville Police Officer are outlined in the Monroeville Muncipal Code, Ordinance No. 2361. The current starting salary is $25.00 hr. At this time, there are no positions available.
